Jody Douglas Moncebaiz, age 22, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, after nearly five years of strength and resilience following a tragic car accident. Though his body was changed by injury, his spirit remained unshaken. He was a warrior, a rebel, and above all—deeply loved.
Jody was born on July 11, 2002, in Austin, Texas, and raised in Round Rock. From the very beginning, he lived life with boldness and passion. A gifted musician, Jody could often be found with a guitar or behind a piano, filling rooms with music and memories. He was the life of every party, known for his charisma, quick wit, and wild heart.
After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident four years and 309 days before his passing, Jody faced immense challenges. He became nonverbal, relied on a feeding tube, and required full-time care—but even through the silence, his presence spoke volumes. His eyes, his strength, and his spirit never stopped showing up. His journey is a testament to love, endurance, and the power of presence.
During those years, an unbreakable bond formed between Jody and his father, Ken. Through countless days and nights—filled with care, music, quiet moments, and fierce love—their connection grew even deeper. In a world with no words, they found a language only the two of them could understand. That bond is a sacred legacy of the time they shared—one forged in pain, but defined by love.
Jody is survived by his father, Ken Moncebaiz; his mother, Melony Key; his brother, Joshua Moncebaiz; his sister, Nicole Moncebaiz; his brother, Alex Moncebaiz; and his sister, Kendall Moncebaiz. He is also remembered by many friends and extended family members whose lives he touched so deeply.
A visitation for Jody will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641, with a vigil and rosary taking place at 6:00 PM.
