

John was born and raised in St. Paul Minnesota to Grady and Clarice Kimmel Jarmon.
After high school, John enlisted in the United States Navy. He served two terms on the USS Midway and in Japan.
Upon leaving the Navy, John landed in Dallas, TX, where he worked for TU Electric for 16 years.
John was currently employed with ERCOT in Taylor, TX and was with them for a little over 23 years.
John founded CLM (Career Life Ministry), a faith based course in electrical work. His students, upon graduating, had an apprentice license, NERC certified and some even went right into a job.
John was also a mentor at Taylor High School, which prompted him to start the BLADE (Beginners Learning Alternative Designs For Energy) club. Under his leadership, the club won an award which resulted in being able to install solar panels and wind generators at the school, saving an average of $7,000.00 per year in energy costs.
John was a musician at heart, he could sing, play guitar and piano. He enjoyed cooking, deep sea fishing and anything electrical.
John is survived by his wife, Tammy Jarmon, sisters Evelyn Ferguson (Joe) of Abilene, TX, Vanessa Zabilla of Sartell, MN, and Julene Thyen (Tony) of Elko, MN.
John is also survived by 3 children, Sean Jarmon and Jessica Jarmon of Austin, TX; Christina Kenyon of Grants Pass, OR. Nephews, Jacob Jarmon and Kris Conte, niece Heather Backstrom.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Clarice, and his sister, Iva Hollenberg (Brad).
A memorial service for John will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1200 S. Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641, followed by a reception until 4:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St David's Hospice or Farm Aid, a charity close to John's heart.
