John spent much of his life in Kentucky, where he built a career as a mechanical engineer with R.A Jones. He later moved to Texas and continued his work with the company, bringing dedication, skill, and pride to his profession throughout his career.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Alene Weisel.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Maria D. Weisel (Lola), with whom he celebrates their 40th wedding anniversary on May 2. He is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn Grieme, Mary Ann Plagge, and his brother, Jim Weisel (Mary Jo Weisel).
John deeply loved his family and especially cherished the time he spent with his many nieces and nephews. He found great joy working in his workshop, whether tinkering on his car or taking on a new hands-on project. If he wasn’t enjoying life’s simple pleasures of Mexican food, margaritas, and or favorite Cookies and Cream ice cream he was often found relaxing on his porch with his beloved dog Amy sitting by his side. Along with his steady presence and care for those around him, he will be warmly remembered.
