Julius Tibor Hargita

Although born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Julius grew up in his beloved city of Budapest, Hungary. Fleeing communist rule at the young age of twenty one, Julius ended up spending most of his life and raising his family in San Antonio, Texas and then later retiring to Leander. Julius married Mary, with whom he escaped Hungary with, on September 12, 1957. Together they had four children, nine grandchildren, and one great- grandchild, and shared 63 wonderful years together.

Julius spent most of his life mastering the skills of woodworking and cabinet making. He had incredible skill and was often sought out for his intricate and detailed work. Despite his strong work ethic, Julius always proclaimed that his greatest achievement was his family.

Throughout his life, Julius enjoyed many hobbies. Most of his hobbies were centered around hunting and the outdoors. He was especially fond of bow hunting and making customized bows. He also enjoyed flying and always had a dream of building his own gyrocopter one day. Later in life, Julius enjoyed sitting in his recliner with a fresh cup of coffee, surrounded by family and sharing stories from the past.

Julius is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, son Pete and wife Liz, daughter Suzy, son Paul and wife Deanne, daughter Katey and husband Eric, along with grandchildren Matt and wife Mary, Michelle and husband Tyler, Kelsie and fiance David, Kevin, Jamie, Ben, Megan, Laney, Marley, and great-grandchild, Theo.

A celebration of Julius' life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Weed-Corley-Fish Leander Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander.
