Linda Fay Hollingsworth

Linda Fay Hollingsworth, devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 in Cedar Park, Texas, at the age of 82. She was born December 18, 1943, in Wharton, Texas, to John Eldridge Kasparek and Edith Marie Kasparek. She was a fifth-generation Texan and a direct descendant of the Republic of Texas.

Linda was raised in Needville, Texas, and later moved to Houston, where she obtained her X-ray technician license. She worked at Houston Methodist Hospital, and was proud of her role as a technician who took X-rays for Dr. DeBakey as he developed technology for heart transplant surgery.

While living in Houston, she met John L. Hollingsworth Jr., and they were married on June 12, 1966. They moved to Dallas, Texas, where they began their family during John’s medical residency at Baylor Dallas, then moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where Linda enjoyed life as a Naval Officer’s wife. After returning to Dallas, Linda dedicated much of her time to being a homemaker and raising their 3 daughters. After her daughters were grown, she worked part-time alongside John at his Internal Medicine private practice.

In her earlier years, Linda enjoyed square dancing with the Lake Highlands Methodist Steeple Steppers and played tennis with friends at Prestonwood Country Club. She loved country music, shopping, jigsaw puzzles, and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She also enjoyed gardening, good food, delicious desserts, sewing/art projects, and had a special affection for her dogs.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Heather Hollingsworth of Dallas, TX, Beth Ontiveros and husband John of Manvel, TX, and Jennifer Harris of Cedar Park, TX; grandchildren Zachary Richardson and wife Jessie, Jacob Richardson, Luke and Abby Ontiveros, Graysen, Rory, and Greer Harris; sisters Brenda Stover and husband Terry, and Janelle Authur and husband Bob; nephews and niece Neal Stover and wife Sue, Dana Stover, and Russell Authur and wife Alyssa; cousin Mark Smith and wife Doris; close family friend Bette Giese, and many other extended family members and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John Leddy Hollingsworth, Jr., parents John E. and Edith Marie Kasparek, and cousin Jimmy Smith.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Smith Leander/Cedar Park Funeral Home on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Linda will be remembered by her family and friends for the life she shared with them, and the many years of memories they made together.
