Margaret Palmer Clark

Peg, the first born child of Donna Jean Palmer and Joseph Palmer, arrived on April 12, 1952.

Peg was a 1970 graduate of Alliance High School. While there she was a member of the Speech Team, National Honor Society, and a clarinetist for the nationally-recognized band. She went on to attend The Ohio State University and graduated with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She had an illustrious career in management at I.B.M. while living in Poughkeepsie New York and eventually transferred to the Austin office. While working there she was awarded several patents along with many other illustrious achievements. She worked there for thirty-three years before retiring and finding her true calling as a math teacher at Cedar Ridge High School. She was the mathematics department chair for six years, honored as the "Teacher of the Year" in 2018 and one of the Black Student Union (BSU) advisors. She was truly loved by the CRHS students and staff.

Peg was a charter member of Hill Country Bible Church Leander now known as North Way Bible Church. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and honored Him through her service there, complementing the service she exuded in her everyday life. Over the years she worked in several areas: Children's Ministry, Student Ministry, Backyard Bible Study, Storytelling, Bible Study Leader, and the Check-In Team.

Peg was a talented speaker and won several awards in ToastMasters. She was a gifted storyteller and was a member of the National Association of Black Storytellers (NABS). She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

She was an avid reader, loved to quilt and never passed up a chance to dance. It brought her joy to spend time with family and friends. If you knew Peg you know of her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and wonderful sense of humor. We will all miss her listening ear, compassionate heart, and wise advice.

She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life and legacy, Son, Jeremy Clark of Leander, TX, Daughter, Carrie Clark of Austin, TX, Granddaughter Jaden Clark of San Antonio, TX, Grandson, Dominic Clark of Leander, TX. Five siblings Jocelyn (Robert) Dabney of Youngstown, OH, Vickie (Micheal) Whitfield of Reynolsburg, OH, Joni Palmer of Dayton, OH, Joseph (Anita) Palmer of Canton, OH, and Steven (Daneen) Palmer of Fayetteville, NC. Aunt Barbara Stargen of Cleveland, OH and Uncle Walter (Wanda) Glenn of Oak Village, OH. Also a host of other family, friends, and students.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Grandmother Ruth Glenn.
