Mary had many great accomplishments in life, of which her proudest was raising four daughters all the while putting herself through nursing school. She worked as a nurse in hospitals throughout Austin until she retired and upon retirement owned and operated a personal care home for many years. She was proud and honored to carry the title of "oldest living member" at the Calvary Baptist Church where she serviced frequently. She enjoyed playing the piano and her singing nights with Brad and Betty.
She loved coast fishing, the beach, collecting antiques and porcelain dolls, long drives through the country side, and of course her Dr. Pepper. She was also very fond of her sheep, chickens, two dogs Honey and Sonny, and the many stray cats that showed up and never left.
Mary is predeceased by her father Kermit Cowan, mother Lorene Lindsey, two brothers Russell Cowan and Gene "Sassy" Cowan, and daughter Sheila Seebeck.
She is survived by her three daughters Sherri Cox of Liberty Hill, Sandra Hill of Burnet, Starla Collins of Liberty Hill; husband Brad Hodge of Lometa; sisters Dru Hunter and husband Dale Hunter of Killeen and Dorothy Coppin of Belton; grandkids Tessa, Alicia, Chad, Brent, Deleenia, Cynthia, Bridget, Howard, Ciara, Cody, and Dakota, 20 great grandkids, 2 great great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and she will be deeply missed.
