

Mitzi was born on April 27, 1973, in Davao City, Philippines to Teresita and the late Crisostomo Evangelista. She is survived by her younger siblings: Ryan Evangelista and his wife Aimee, Charlotte Gwen Bosquit and her husband Juan, and Kent Evangelista and his wife Janet. Mitzi was a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews Ashley, Aidan, Lizzie, Kyan, Juwan, Lance, and Zach.
Mitzi attended San Pedro College in Davao and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Nursing. She emigrated to New York in 1996 to pursue her career. Mitzi worked as office manager for All Care Physical Therapy in Freeport, NY, and was a loving mentor to her younger cousins who followed her to the United States. She also worked as a Staff Nurse at South Nassau Hospital and a hospital in Bronx. Mitzi was kind and generous to the staff and patients and was loved and respected by all.
She continued to pursue her nursing career when she moved to Austin, Texas to work in Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital with the Medical Surgical unit. She was soon promoted to charge nurse and was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2021. Mitzi was very hard-working and dedicated, working for 10 years until retiring in May of 2024 due to her chronic illness. She was a beacon of light who touched many lives during her career.
Mitzi loved spending time with her family in the Philippines and her friends both in the US and back home. She spoiled her many nieces and nephews to their hearts' content. Mitzi was generous with her time and treasure to all she held close to her heart. She loved and cared for her dogs like they were her own babies, Misha, Haru & Yuki, who are all reunited with her now. Mitzi was a strong and independent woman with a caring soul, a fighter who never stopped fighting until the end.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her
