Born in New Albany, Mississippi on April 22nd, 1948, Pat grew up as the youngest of eight siblings. She is survived by her brother Bill and often shared stories of her childhood on the farm, especially memories of her mother Cory whom she always spoke of as an incredible cook and “the kindest person she had ever known.” The daughter of a sharecropper, Pat began her professional life as a secretary and using her incredible intelligence and ambition, worked her way up to an accomplished corporate level. She worked as a payroll software consultant for the majority of her career and through this position, she was able to travel across the world. During such travels, she attended a concert with her granddaughter where she discovered her all-time favorite band, One Direction. In addition to travel and music, Pat’s passions included birdwatching, liberal politics and “debating” conservative news channels, and spending time with her family.
Patricia is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as the countless others who were touched by her kind heart and generous spirit. She is remembered for joy, laughter, and most of all, love. Her warm, strong presence shaped the lives of everyone she loved and everyone who had the privilege of loving her. In her memory and honor, we her family who love her so much, will continue to live our lives with humor, passion, courage, and heart.
Sweet dreams, funny dreams, love dreams, happy dreams, Nanny. You are so loved and dearly missed. It has been a privilege to know you and is an honor to continue your beautiful legacy. Here’s to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
