

A Visitation will be held at 9:30 followed by a Memorial Service at Idalou United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 with Pastor Larry Bass officiating. Burial will follow at the Idalou Cemetery.

Sarah Pauline Rogers Yarbrough, age 103, of Leander, Texas, formerly of Idalou, Texas, passed to her heavenly home on October 29, 2022.
Pauline was born in Jones County, Texas on July 14, 1919, to William Harvey and Lula Ann Rogers. Her family moved to Panhandle, Texas in 1930 before coming to Idalou in 1934. A 1936 graduate of Idalou High School, she was class Valedictorian at age 16. She was proud to attend Texas Tech University, graduating in 1941 with a Bachelors in Science (Home Economics Degree). She taught for 25 years; Home Economics while sponsoring the Idalou High School Cheerleading Squad and later 5th grade at Idalou Elementary.
She married Thomas Earl Yarbrough on January 4, 1946. He owned and operated the Gulf Service Station in Idalou and later was Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3. Pauline enjoyed helping him with office work after she retired. She also devoted time to helping with grandsons and began many hobbies including painting, ceramics, jewelry-making, crocheting, and enjoyed judging hand work at the Panhandle South Plains Fair. She was a life-long learner, promoting education and continued to improve with a love of reading, working crossword puzzles each day, and enjoying the Ladies exercise group at the Methodist Church. Her memberships included Idalou United Methodist Church, Idalou Civic and Culture Club, and Texas Retired Teachers Association.
In 2013, she moved to Leander, Texas to be with daughter, Janice, and near her grandson and family. There she was a member of Good News United Methodist Church, hosted a weekly Life Group of friends from the church, and was a member of Cedar Park AARP.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Yarbrough; brothers Homer, Robert Earl, Morris, John; and sisters Bertha, Myrtle, Gertrude, Corine, and Ima Jeane.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Overman of Leander, Texas; grandchildren Chad (Nicole) Overman of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Kyle Overman of Leander, Texas; great-grandchildren, Caty Atkinson, Megan, Sarah, Peyton, and Alexandra Overman and brother Harold (Velma) Rogers of Idalou; and numerous nephews and nieces.
