Pearl Davila

Our beautiful Pearl was called home May 27, 2026. To say she was the heart of our family is an understatement. She was kind and welcoming to everyone she met and loved by so many. We will miss her beautiful smile, her big hugs, and the way her eyes would light up when talking to you.

She was born on June 20, 1938, to George and Marie Gray and grew up in Laredo, TX where she met the love of her life, Juan. After marrying on October 21, 1961, they lived in Phoenix, AZ for 12 years, where she loved the heat and sunshine and getting together with her friends. They then moved to Austin, Texas to be close to family and raise their children. While she spent most of her life caring for children, taking care of her three babies and her five grandbabies was the joy of her life. She loved having her family around and watching everyone grow up. In her younger days she and her husband of 64 years would spend evenings at the bowling alley, joining leagues where they would make lifelong friends.

Nothing about Pearl was simple or plain or boring. She loved parties, especially when they were for her. She was elegant and glamorous and always dressed to impress. Her sense of style was undeniable. She loved playing bingo with her friends and taking her annual birthday trips with her daughter and granddaughters. Going to the casino and playing penny slots was one of her favorite past times. And she loved parrots so much that she decorated her home with them.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. To know her was to love her, and her impact on those around her will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her loving husband Juan, her daughter Patsy and her husband Michael, her son Juan Carlos and his girlfriend Sue, as well as her grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandro, Victoria, Jay and his fiancé Mariah, and Jessica. Her sisters Rose and Madeline and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Caesar, her sister Lita and twin brother Pershing and brother Joseph.
