Born in Sweden in 1965, Roger lived a life defined by passion, loyalty, humor, and unwavering love for the people closest to him. To many around the world, he was known as "Bogge" or by his stage name, B. War, for his years as bassist with the legendary Swedish black metal band Marduk. From 1992 to 2004, Roger helped shape one of the band's most influential eras, performing on albums that continue to inspire fans across the globe.
While many knew Roger for his accomplishments on stage, those closest to him knew the man behind the music. He was kind, fiercely loyal, and never afraid to be himself. His greatest source of pride was not found in albums or performances, but in his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an incredibly proud grandfather. Time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Roger leaves behind his beloved wife, Joanna; his children, Allison, Tabitha, and Damien; his treasured grandchildren; his sister, Lena; three nephews and one niece; along with many extended family members, lifelong friends, and fans around the world who will forever remember his talent, authenticity, and unforgettable spirit.
Roger's legacy lives on in the music he created, the friendships he forged, and, most importantly, the family he loved with his whole heart. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that his laughter, his strength, and his love will continue to live on through all who knew him.
