May 9, 1951June 17, 2020

Sharon Lee Wilson Wells, age 69, entered heaven on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. “Nanna” was a 40 year resident of Leander, Texas.

Sharon was born in Flushing, New York, to Monnie M. Wilson and Dewey Goins. She grew up in Sidney, Ohio, and in 1963 she was adopted by Frank C. Wilson. She would forever call him “Dad.” Sharon fell madly in love with Larry E. Wells in 1972 after two years at Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida. They moved to Houston, Texas, and Sharon gave birth to their son, Colin Wells in 1977. Later they settled permanently in Leander in 1980.

Throughout Sharon’s career she employed her love of painting, crafting and design. She began painting custom murals but later took to painting canvas at home. For a time she owned an applique business called Swell Ideas. Additionally she spent several years as the testing coordinator for Austin Community College but she never stopped crocheting, quilting or making crafts and costumes for her grandkids. After her mother, Monnie, moved to Texas in 1996 she became a member of the Cedar Park Knitting Circle.

In 1987, Sharon rededicated her life to Jesus while attending Leander First Baptist Church. She joined New Hope First Baptist Church in 1994 where she has served on the counting committee and food pantry team. She loved attending sunday school and quilting classes at New Hope.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Wells; her son Colin Wells and his wife, Mary. They have five children who adored their Nanna. Additionally she is survived by her mother, Monnie Wilson; her sister Deborah Harmon-Kauffman; her nephew Gabriel F. Harmon and his wife Melissa and their five children. Sharon is loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 A.M. at the New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park, Texas.

Sharon Lee Wells

have a memory or condolence to add?

Jean Tolman

July 4, 2020

Dear Wells family,
I was on Facebook today and saw a post that Colin had made on the County Glen Neighborhood page. "Colin Wells! I remember Colin Wells and his parents from Adam's soccer team. He must live in County Glen." Then, I looked at Colin's page and read that Sharon had passed away recently. My memories of the Wells family are all positive and happy. Larry ran the youth soccer league back then. Sharon was friendly and kind and I remember her service to the Fry family when David Fry (a former soccer coach) passed away. And Colin was a fine upstanding lad. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Even from my limited association, it is obvious to me that Sharon touched and brightened many lives and made this world a better place.
