

Steven Jack Hamrick was born July 9, 1960, in Covina, California as the son of Milton Jackson Hamrick and Barbara Nell (Maggard) Hamrick. He passed from this life on December 22, 2022, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 62.
After spending his childhood years in California, the family relocated to the Dallas area where Steve met lifelong friends and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He began his professional career working on the software for the F-16 fighter jets at General Dynamics. His early career took him to multiple states working on various projects as a defense contractor. In 1990, he made his way to Austin working on a countermeasures project for Tracor. He gradually transitioned from software programming to project management; working for Applied Materials, EMC, Dell, and finally The Home Depot. Steven married Donna Teitelbaum on August 6, 1994 at their home in Austin. They were blessed with a daughter, Jillian, 4 years later. Steve enjoyed many hobbies: biking, hiking, disc golfing, target shooting, stained glass, and home improvement projects. He also enjoyed travelling, visiting Cozumel, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, the U.S Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Utah, Colorado, California, Nevada, Lake Tahoe, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Florida. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and friend to many; he will be deeply missed.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Barbara Hamrick, and his sister Angela Hamrick. He is survived by his wife, Donna Hamrick, daughter, Jillian Hamrick, and a host of friends and colleagues. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
