Steven was a proud veteran who dedicated 22 years of service in the United States Army before retiring. During his military career, he was an active member of the military band, where he shared his love of music through his trumpet performances. Music remained one of Steven's greatest passions throughout his life. He appreciated the classics and often joked that the music of today was not quite the same as the music he grew up enjoying.
A quiet and humble man, Steven was often content to keep to himself. He never sought attention or recognition, preferring instead to let his actions speak for him. Those who knew him understood that beneath his reserved nature was a deeply caring and loyal person whose love for his family ran deep. Steven's calm presence and steady support were qualities that family and friends came to cherish.
Beyond his military service, Steven was an avid bowler. In his younger years, he participated in a bowling league and enjoyed the friendships, competition, and camaraderie that came with the sport. Whether listening to music, talking about his favorite artists, or spending time at the bowling alley, Steven found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Above all else, Steven was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the unwavering love he shared with those closest to him.
Steven leaves behind his beloved wife, Iris Landers; his daughters, Natascha Landers and Jessica Landers; his treasured granddaughter, Hope; and his brothers, Bob Landers and family and John Landers and family. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, fellow veterans, and members of the music community who will miss him dearly.
Though Steven's presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, music, family, and friendship will never be forgotten.
"The song may end, but the melody lives on in the hearts of those who loved him."
Forever loved, forever remembered.
