Suzanne Triola

Suzanne “Sue” Triola, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 76.

Sue was born on April 26, 1950, in Lakewood, New Jersey, to Dorothy and Victor White. On December 5, 1971, she married the love of her life, Frank Triola. Together, they built a life filled with family, adventure, travel, and more than a few moves along the way.

Sue embraced military life and the adventures that came with it. Of all the places it took their family, living in Scotland held a particularly special place in her heart. She loved experiencing new places, meeting new people, and making a home wherever life happened to take them.

Sue and Frank raised three children: Frank Michael Triola, Irene Dorothy Shaver, and Emily Joyce Le. When the children were grown and Sue and Frank became empty nesters, they did something that perfectly captured Sue's adventurous spirit—they sold everything and moved to Russia, where they both worked for the American Embassy. Their adventures continued with travels to Egypt and Thailand, as well as visits with Frank Jr. while he was living in Germany. Sue lived a life that was anything but ordinary, and she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

As much as Sue loved adventure, nothing compared to her love for her family. Her greatest joy—perhaps with the exception of Christmas, which held its own very special place in her heart—was being a grandmother to Harvey Edwin Shaver, Vivien Suzanne Le, and Elliot Hai Le. They brought her tremendous happiness and were loved beyond measure.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Victor White; her brother, Edward White; her sister, Helen Gwaldo; brother in law, Charlie Gwaldo; and her sister in law, Jan White.

She leaves behind her husband, Frank; her children, Frank Michael, Irene Dorothy, and Emily Joyce; her daughter in law, Meredith Yuskiw; her son in law, Hai Le; her grandchildren, Harvey, Vivien, and Elliot; her sister, Elizabeth Wilson and husband; her brother, Victor White and wife; and the many people fortunate enough to have shared in her remarkable life.

Sue had a true sense of adventure, but the greatest journey of her life was the one she shared with the people she loved. She gave her family a lifetime of stories, traditions, laughter, and memories that will continue to be told for generations.

She was the light of our lives. While her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her spirit remains— in the places she loved, the stories we tell, the Christmas traditions we carry on, and most of all, in the family she loved so deeply.

Sue's family would also like to extend a very special thank you to her caregiver, Maureen Khan, who cared for Sue with extraordinary love and compassion. Maureen loved Sue like family, and because of her devoted care, we were able to honor one of the things that mattered most to us—keeping Sue at home, surrounded by the people and things she loved. We will forever be grateful to Maureen for the comfort, kindness, and love she gave Sue and our entire family.

Sue will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
