Terry Curtis Hart, 84, of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born to Richard Wilson Hart and Lillian Virginia Anderson Hart, Terry grew up with a deep sense of curiosity, integrity, and commitment—qualities that shaped every chapter of his life.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Judith Carol Hart, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and unwavering love. He leaves behind two daughters who adored him: Iva Alyson Igau and her husband, Michael D. Igau, of Leander, Texas, and Natalie Elaine Questell and her husband, Adam Questell, of Houston, Texas. Terry was a proud and beloved grandfather to five grandchildren: Carlee Igau Coleman and her husband, Alex, Ashley Igau, Aidan Questell, Alexa Questell, and Evelyn Questell, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.
Soon after graduating from high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Navy, answering the call to serve his country. One of many accomplishments over his career was to earn his Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin, a testament to his sharp mind and lifelong love of learning. Throughout more than two decades of service, Terry exemplified honor, discipline, and leadership, culminating in his retirement as a Lieutenant Commander in 1981. His time in the Navy shaped him profoundly, and he carried the values of service and duty into every aspect of his life.
While Terry’s professional accomplishments were significant, his proudest titles were husband, father, and grandfather. A quiet and thoughtful man, he expressed love through steadiness, gentle humor, and an ever-present willingness to support those he cared for. His quick wit, warm smile, and kind spirit made him a cherished presence at every family gathering. He was the calm in any storm, the steady voice of reason, and the heart of his family.
Terry found joy in simple moments—reading, solving problems, watching his grandchildren grow, and spending peaceful days at home with Judith. His legacy lives on not only in the stories and memories shared by family and friends but also in the values he instilled: love, humility, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Terry will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, yet the impact of his life and the love he gave so freely will endure for generations.
The family will celebrate Terry’s life privately, and no public service is planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude’s or the American Cancer Society in his honor—two organizations Terry supported throughout his life.
