Tom was born on April 3, 1942 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Bruce Anderson Pack and Martha Amis. He graduated from CE Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA in 1960 and went on to earn his degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1965.
After college Tom served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corp from 1964-1972. Tom's highest rank was Captain. He was a helicopter pilot and decorated officer in the Vietnam War. During his service, he met his wife, Jeri Ogdahl while he was on a helicopter training mission.
Tom and Jeri were two peas in a pod. They loved each other dearly and were always doing something adventurous. They loved traveling, but hated cold weather. So their favorite spots to visit were anywhere with a warm beach or a golf course. Some of their favorite spots were the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and Belize.
Tom was an entrepreneur and ran several successful businesses during his career. His most successful ventures involved seismic oil exploration and mobile drilling. Tom worked and travelled the world during these explorations living and working in locations like the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa, living in Sao Paulo Brazil for some time, and also working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
Tom was very social and loved being a prankster. His favorite hobbies included playing golf and poker. You didn't want to sit at a poker table with Tom unless you were comfortable parting with your proceeds. He loved visiting with his kids and grandchildren. As mischievous as Tom was as a kid, it was funny to see how protective he was to each of his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his two sons, Brian and William; and his six beloved grandchildren: Zachary, Brooke, Audrey, Margaret, Kaylin, and Anderson.
