William Charles Hall Jr.

November 15, 1929May 2, 2019

William Charles Hall joined his beloved Heavenly Father on May 2, 2019.

He was preceded to the gates of heaven by his father William Charles Hall, mother Edna Margaret Hammett Hall, brother Don Hall, and son in law Ron Lye.

Charles was born on November 15, 1929 in Fentress, Texas and attended elementary through high school at Dowdy. Upon graduation at the age of 16, he received a 4-year scholarship to attend Southwest State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. He graduated in 1950 with degrees in both Chemistry and English.

Charles went to work at Corelab, but soon received his draft notice. He promptly called his sweetheart to make her his bride. He married the love of his life, Loy Faye Milam in September 1950.

After a 2-year stint in the army that took the newlyweds to Fort Lee, Virginia and Columbia, South Carolina, he began his career as a Petroleum Engineer with Lane Wells, which later became Dresser Industries. Their life journeys took them to Laurel Mississippi, Harvey Louisiana, Lake Charles Louisiana, Beaumont Texas, Gretna Louisiana, Buras Louisiana, Houston, Texas and Laredo, Texas. Theirs was an adventure they both loved . . . moving, raising a family and making new friends all along the way. Charles retired in 1986 after 33 years with Dresser Industries and moved to Austin in 1987. He soon began another career which he said was “the job he had been lookin’ for his whole life” at Woodland Greens Driving Range.

Charles is survived by his love of 69 years, Faye. He is also survived by his children Vicky, Lisa, Bill and wife Susan, Donna and husband Ronnie, Kelly and husband Robert; his precious grandchildren Rhett, Cody, Kyle, Amber, Amy, Garrett, Allison, Katy, Courtney, Trevor, Olivia and Cara; his great grandchildren (who he thought were the greatest of great!) Rylan, Cole, Kayse, Maddox and Samira.

He is also survived by sisters in law Rae and husband DE, and Joan, wife of late brother Don, brother in law John and wife Judy, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, and so many friends and golfing buddies that brought joy to his life.

A Celebration of Charles' Life will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Anderson Mill Baptist Church, 10633 Lake Creek Parkway in Austin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the: Agape Pregnancy Center, 104 E. Main Street, Round Rock, Texas 78664.
