Alverta "Birdie" A. Hess
January 13, 1928 – February 7, 2021
Alverta A. “Birdie “ Hess, 93 passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was born in North Annville Twp. on January 13, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Stella (Reese) Bomgardner. Birdie had been employed by various Shoe Factories and Crossing Guard. She enjoyed Cooking and Sewing. Surviving are her sons: Karl I, husband of Dawn Hess, Manheim; Robert W, husband of Marina Hess, Loredo,TX; Glenn D, husband of Susan Hess, Cartersville, GA; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Birdie was predeceased by her daughters: Cheryl Ebersole and Margie Boland. A memorial service will be held in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland St, Lebanon, PA, 17042 on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00PM with a visitation from 1:00PM until the time of the service.

I have a lot of good childhood memories of birdie, I was always at her house on 6th st. She was a great lady.. You're in my thoughts my heart and my prayers.

I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom, keep your chin up she is in a much better place. I think back to all the wonderful times we had growing up in our huge family ,I wouldn't trade any of it . Your Mother did a great job raising her family. Love to all an God Bless.

Hess Family,
My sincere sympathies for your loss. I have some great memories of your mom - when I'd see her working as a crossing guard (enjoying all of the children), her calls to me always enjoyable and recipes shared. I'll certainly miss hearing from her but will never forget her smile and laugh.
