
He was born August 8, 1923 in Freeport Mills son of the late Andrew James Sherman Sr. and Eva nee Darkes Sherman.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel and was a World War II Veteran serving as a Sergeant in the Navy (Army Air Corp at the time) from 1943 to 1946 working as a radio mechanic in the Pacific. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, playing cards and walking his canine companion Pepper.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Mabel Mae (Small) Sherman and Daughter Andrea Sherman from Lancaster; Grandchildren James Sherman spouse of Paula from Womelsdorf, Dustin Mann spouse of Kristi from Lebanon, Joshua Kirkwood spouse of Jocelyn from Lebanon, Amy Kirkwood from Lebanon, William & Katrina Kreiser both from Lebanon and 10 Great Grandchildren; brother Franklin Sherman from Poland, OH, sisters Dorothy Ross and spouse Ronald from Lebanon and Bertha Deck from Lebanon as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter April Kirkwood, Brother Lloyd Sherman, Sisters Anna Sherman, Beatrice Sando and JoAnn Feaser.
Pastor Craig Ross from St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster will officiate.
