
Annie C. Breitner, 87, Lebanon, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday October 15, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Rene “Jack” Breitner who passed away in 1980. She was born in Lebanon on February 20, 1927 a daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Whitman Shirey. She had been employed for a short time as a homemaker at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Annie was fiercely independent, and was one of the first residents of the MarketHouse Place Apartments when it opened, and she lived there until her passing on Wednesday. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and the Humane Society of Lebanon County. Annie was also very patriotic and volunteered for any cause that benefitted the military. She is survived by sons: Todd Breitner and wife Connie, Timothy Peiffer, Dwight Peiffer and wife Gail, Theodore Peiffer and wife Cheryl; grandchildren: Matthew Breitner, Kristin (Williams) Weatherholtz, Heather (Peiffer) Boyer, and 6 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Alexander Breitner, Aubrey Williams, Kayden Weatherholtz and 2 other great-grandchildren as well as several nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister: Florence Rhoads and brother: James Shirey. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 where a viewing will begin at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, 201 N. 7th St., Lebanon, PA 17046 or the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Rd., Myerstown, PA 17067.
