Arlene M Groft

Arlene M. Sweitzer Groft, 90, formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, December 21st, 2013 in the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born in Cornwall, a daughter of the late John and Ida Hoke Sweitzer. Arlene was the wife of the late Charles A. Groft who passed away January 5th, 2007. Mrs. Groft was retired from RCA. She was a member of the Lebanon Senior Center and Polka Pals. She graduated from Lebanon High, class of 1940. Arlene was known being kind, generous, easy to get along with and liked to have fun. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and traveling, especially to the beach. She loved music and dancing, especially Polka and Line Dancing. Surviving are her daughter: Marlene G., wife of Jack E. Gingrich, Palmyra; grandchildren: Timothy, husband of Sheila Gingrich, Palmyra; Kelley, wife of Michael Finkelstein, Harrisburg; Amy, wife of Tim Gralewski, Pittsburgh; great grandchildren: Rachel and Marc Finkelstein; Morgan Gralewski; Brothers: Glenn Sweitzer, Lebanon; sisters: Barbara, wife of Dave Wallet, Quentin; Sara Ciccone of Quentin; Mary Jane Kugler of Cleona; Arnetta Reichard of Lebanon; many nieces and nephews. Arlene is predeceased by a son: Charles Groft Jr; daughter: Judith Groft; brothers: Donald, Charles, John, Grant Sweitzer; sisters: Marion Bickel, Cathryn Sweitzer, Erma Auman and Edith Gerhart. A funeral service will be held in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, Pa., 17042 on Friday, December 27th, 2013 at 11:00a.m. with a viewing from 10:00a.m until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
