

Barry L. Lutz, 64, Myerstown, died on Wednesday February 16, 2011 in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the loving husband of Donna J. Lutz, to whom he would have been married for 40 years on May 22nd this year. He was born in Lebanon on September 11, 1946 a son of the late Irvin D. and Mildred E. Gettle Lutz. He was retired from the Bayer Corporation with 34 years of service. Barry was a 1964 graduate of ELCO High School and was a member of Zoar’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Zion. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Barry was a well-known pitcher and player for the South Lebanon Fast-Pitch Softball team for many years and presently coached the ELCO girls’ softball team. He was a former coach of the Northern Lebanon girls’ softball team and was inducted into the Central PA Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. He was an avid bowler and Braves fan who also enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Meredith L. wife of Christopher Buck, York Haven; and a grandson: Lucas A. Buck. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy L. Showers. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 A.M. in Zoar’s Lutheran Church, 560 Freeport Rd., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be Sunday from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 5th & Cumberland Sts., Lebanon.
