Betty Edelman Creamer

Betty Edelman Creamer, 96, departed this world on Sunday morning October 5, 2025 at Cornwall Manor. Betty was born on June 4, 1929 in Robesonia, the daughter of Benjamin A. Edelman and Margaret McCook. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Anthony B. Creamer Jr. (1928-2011). Betty was a graduate of Robesonia High School (1947) and Lebanon Valley College (1951) where she played saxophone, and guard on the college basketball team, not simultaneously. She was the first in her family to attend college. Betty’s service to the Lebanon County medical community as a medical technologist spanned seven decades. Following her internship at Abington Hospital, Betty worked at Good Samaritan Hospital and Lebanon Sanatorium and provided service to the medical offices of Drs. Carl Sherk and M.Dale Yocum. After raising her five children, Betty was on the staff of Lebanon Internal Medical Associates (LIMA) and its predecessor firms from 1974 until 2018. She retired shortly before her 90th birthday and with steady hands was still drawing blood from patients loyal to her alone. In 1960, Betty, along with her late husband co-founded Lebanon Paint and Wallpaper Co., still in operation today. Betty loved to knit and was known for her excellent bridge playing and dancing abilities. Betty is survived by her brother Bryon J. Edelman (and his recently deceased wife Susie) of Avon Lake, OH and their daughter Jennifer. Her brother Mark J. Edelman passed away in 1991. She is also survived by her five children: Anthony B., III and wife Mary of Philadelphia; Michele M. Reyes and husband Raul of San Diego; Benjamin J. and wife Leann of Harrisburg; Jennifer M. Ganci and husband John of Plymouth Meeting; and Andrew B. and wife Elizabeth of Lynchburg, VA.; granddaughters Abigail A. West and husband Ryan of Kennett Square and Amber D. Creamer of Harrisburg, along with great grandsons Gavin and Caden West. In her final years there were few things she enjoyed more than being with her family and friends, driving around Lebanon and Berks counties, attending classical and jazz concerts at Mt. Gretna, and eating chicken quesadillas followed by a stop at DQ. Interment with her late husband at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery is private. A Mass and celebration of Betty’s life will be held for friends and family at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cornwall, PA on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 11:30 am, followed by a luncheon.
