Carla J. Bergman, 64, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday August 23, 2026 in the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Lester A. Bergman, Jr. with whom she celebrated a 23rd wedding anniversary in July. Carla was born in Lebanon on April 2, 1962, a daughter of the Barbara (Sobbing) Maurer, Jonestown and the late Joseph Maurer. Carla was a graduate of Cedar Crest High School; received her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and her MBA from Lebanon Valley College. She was fun-loving woman who enjoyed taking cruises, especially to the Caribbean; and she was a member of many local social clubs where she was known as a social butterfly with her dear friends. Carla loved working on cars and doing home repairs and cherished spending valuable time with her grandchildren. She volunteered with Making a Difference in Lebanon and was a huge supporter of the Humane Society and any organizations helping local veterans. In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her children: Christy wife of Michael Chapin; Michelle (Brenner) Desiderio and her partner Anthony Hornberger; step-son: Ben Bergman; grandchildren: Noah, Trinity, Alexis and Peyton; and a sister: Cathy wife of Christopher Hitz. She was preceded in death by a sister: Anna Marie “Susie” Kelley. Funeral services will be Friday August 28, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Rohland Funeral Home 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon with a viewing from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County 150 N. Ramona Rd., Myerstown, PA 17607.
