

Charles R. Light, 77, of Cornwall, PA died Thursday, January 26, 2012 in the Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. He was the husband of June (Marks) Light to whom he had been married 57 years. He was born in Hershey, PA on August 24, 1934, son of the late Charles C. and Lucy S. Becker Light. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Charles was a member of Tabor United Church of Christ and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Foundry after 28 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was known for his excellent husbandry skills. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons: Bruce E. Light and wife Deborah, Lebanon; Kerry L. Light and wife Pamela, Denver, PA; grandchildren: Bruce E. Light Jr., Windemere, Florida; Susan E. wife of Christopher Barnhart, Lebanon; great-grandchildren: Madalynn Mary and Isabella Nicole Barnhart; brother: Donald G. Light, LaVista, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Steven R. Light and his sister Doris Emerich. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 PM in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the funeral home where a viewing will also be held one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will be held in the New Union Cemetery, Myerstown following the service.
