Dorothy Gladys Moyer

Dorothy Gladys Moyer, 81, of Stoneridge Poplar Run, Myerstown, PA, died Friday, December 11, 2015 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, PA. She was the wife of the late Albert F. Moyer who died in 1985. She was born in Bethel Township, Berks County, PA, a daughter of the late Miles W. and Gussie M. Marks Umberger. Dorothy was employed as head cook at the Lebanon VA Medical Center with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church in Lebanon, PA. She was founder of the Farm Women Group #5 of Berks County, PA; was on the Lebanon County Fair Board for 20 years; enjoyed flying airplanes and took therapy dogs to local nursing homes for the elderly. She is survived by children, Harold Moyer and wife Charlene of Wyalusing, PA; Larry L. Moyer of Wysox, PA; Ray Moyer and wife Astrid of Lebanon, PA; Joyce Folmer and husband David of Lebanon, PA; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Moyer. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17th at 1:00 PM in the Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Road, Lebanon, PA with a viewing beginning on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be made in the Kochenderfer’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stoneridge Poplar Run, 450 E.
