Edna Jane Leese Ellenberger

Edna Jane Ellenberger died on Thursday, December 8, 2011 in her home. She was the wife of Ethan Earl Ellenberger with whom they celebrated 62 years of marriage. She was born in Jonestown, a daughter of the late Harry Levi and Stella Kathryn Krum Leese. Edna graduated from the Bryland Institute in Reading and had her own beautician shop for many years. She also worked in a variety of retail stores in Lebanon and managed the “Stuff to Wear” shop for a few years. She was a graduate of Jonestown High School, a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lebanon, and was an avid Hershey Bears fan. She enjoyed cooking, baking and her family loved her homemade opera fudge. Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Trudie wife of Roger Bacharach of Lancaster; Jeffrey husband of Diane Ellenberger of Hershey; grandchildren, Joel Bacharach, Jordan wife of Benjamin Woolard, Ethan Ellenberger, Ian Ellenberger and Aaron Ellenberger. She was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Bowman , Violet Leese and a brother, Oscar Leese. Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the St. John’s UCC, 931 Willow St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
