
Edward G. O'Neill, Jr., 87, died on Friday, July 4, 2014, at Hill Farm Estate. He was born on November 7, 1926. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence A. (Dohner) O'Neill, to whom he was married for 63 years. He was the son of the late Edward and Sophia (Spaeth) O'Neill. A graduate of Lebanon High School, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon. He worked for Met-Ed and owned his own gas station for 2 years and later retired from Bell Atlantic. He served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Cassin Young during a kamikaze attack on July 29. 1945.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanne, wife of Willie Carlisle of Jonestown, sons Rodney of Norristown, and Timothy, husband of Thomasine O'Neill of Myerstown; grandchildren, Corey Carlisle, Astra Truax, Adam O'Neill, Jonathan O'Neill, Tiffany Yorgensen and Timothy O'Neill Jr.; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Ciara and Gage Carlisle, Katie, Olivia, Jacob and Violet Yorgensen, Jackson O'Neill, Tora and Sydney Truax and nieces and nephew. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom O'Neill.
All are welcome to his graveside service which will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornwall Cemetery, Cornwall. Memorial contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Lebanon County, 637 Chestnut Street, Lebanon PA 17042.
