Lawrence B Shay

Lawrence B. Shay, 84, Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2024 in the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. Hunsicker Shay, with whom he celebrated a 40th wedding anniversary in November. Larry was born in Lebanon on October 21, 1939 a son of the late Harry and Christine Rudy Shay. Larry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He had attended Lebanon Catholic High School and had worked for Cleaver Brooks. He was an avid golfer who had a hole-in-one at Blue Mountain Golf Course and realized a dream of playing a round at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Club. He loved animals and kept close friendships with his Lebanon Catholic classmates with frequent breakfast meetings. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Timothy Shay, Anthony Kumiega; grandchildren: Matthew Guerrisi, Daniel Guerrisi and Melissa Diabo; brother: Michael Shay; nephew: Scott Peiffer and wife Kim; nieces: Kathy Peiffer and Laurie Shay and Kelly Shay; great nieces: Teresa Campbell and Samantha Parmer as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Dawn Marie Guerrisi; brothers: Gregory and Dennis Shay and sister: Eleanor Peiffer. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 am in the Rohland Funeral Home 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 preceded by a viewing from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Annville Bible Church 4590 Hill Church Rd., Annville, PA 17003 or to Davis Dog Farm 2686 Sand Beach Rd., Grantville, PA 17028.
