Leo Robert Neumann

CORNWALL, PA- L. Robert “Bob” Neumann, 87, of Cornwall, PA, formerly of Wappingers Falls, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Cornwall, PA. He was the husband of Myra Jones Neumann. Bob was born on October 7, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph L. Neumann and Genevieve (Halpin) Neumann.

At the age of 6, after the death of his father, Bob entered Girard College in Philadelphia, a boarding school for fatherless boys. While there, he developed life-long friendships and had many fond memories of his time there. Bob enjoyed returning to Girard annually for a reunion with his classmates. After graduating from Girard in 1947, Bob went on to attend Drexel University in Philadelphia. While attending, he played on the varsity soccer team. After graduation with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Bob went to work at RCA in Camden, NJ. In 1980 he went back to school to get a Masters Degree at the University of Vermont. Bob subsequently was employed at IBM in Fishkill until his retirement in 1992.

On May 8, 1953 Bob married Myra Jones in Philadelphia. He was a dedicated and loving husband. Together they raised three sons and were married for 64 years. Myra survives at home in Cornwall, PA. He is also survived by his sons and daughters in law, Glenn & Barbara of Hopewell Junction, Scott & Katie of Pleasant Valley and Brian & Kim of Castleton, NY. Additional survivors include Bob’s grandchildren: Daniel (Allison), Andrew, Trevor, David, Elijah and Olivia.

Bob was a kind and patient man who was liked by everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed by his family, friends and bridge partners.

Bob was the youngest of seven children and was predeceased by his siblings: Eleanor, Joseph, Elmer, Dorothy, Francis & Mildred.

A Memorial Service will be held at Cornwall Manor in Cornwall, PA on Saturday, November 11 at 1:30 PM. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Girard College in Philadelphia, PA. Arrangements are under the care of Rohland Funeral Home in Lebanon, PA.
