Merrie C. Burke

Merrie C. Burke, 88, Lebanon, passed away on June 28, 2012 AT Cedar Haven surrounded by family. Husband George C. Burke, Sr. preceded her in death in 1994. Merrie was born on December 25, 1923 in Lebanon to the late Harry P. and Dorothy Hoffman Weik. She was a member of Grace Independent Church where she helped with Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. She was an avid camper and a good mother. She is survived by children: George C., Jr., Lebanon; Joyce E. widow of Donald Gaskin, Lebanon; Dorothea L. wife of Joe Nasuti, Myerstown; Brian P. and wife Ellen G., Cleona; Randy E. and wife Grace, Lebanon; Melanie J. wife of Charles Cocuzzi, Pittsburgh; Gerald D. and wife Kathy, Lebanon; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Merrie is also survived by sister: Gloria Fraytic, Lebanon; brothers Griffith Weik and William Weik, Lebanon; and Jon Weik, Ephrata. She was preceded in death by sisters Fern Kreider and Geraldine Basselgia, and daughter-in-law Cynthia L. Burke. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042. Viewing will be Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday from 12:30 P.M. to the time of service in the funeral home. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park.
