Orley “Earl” D. Kennedy, 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026, comforted by the presence of his loving daughter. He was born on May 22, 1925, in Camden, NJ, a son of the late John M. and Elizabeth (Brady) Kennedy. In February of 1944, he married the love of his life, Doris Mills. She sadly precedes him in death.
Earl graduated from Woodrow Wilson Highschool in New Jersey. He would go on to proudly service in the U.S Navy during World War II. While enlisted, Earl drew upon his childhood talent of tap dancing and was a member of a European dance troupe. As a civilian he was employed at the Campbell’s Soup Company for 40 years. He started as a time keeper and rose through the ranks to ultimately become a Corporate Director. Earl was also an accomplished athlete. As a young man, he enjoyed tennis and rated first in his high school. As an adult he pursued a passion for golf and scored two hole- in- ones during his time on the fairways.
Earl was a member of the Grace Church at Willow Valley. He was also a long-time resident of the Willow Valley community. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nursing and support staff of Lakeside Willow Valley and to Caring Hospice Services in appreciation for their excellent care of Earl.
Left to cherish Earl’s memory is his daughter, Sandra Fisher; grandchildren, Dawn (Mike) Weston and John Fisher; great grandchildren, Samantha (Noah) Weston and Aaron (Kat) Weston; and great-great grandchild, Waylon Weston.
Earl is preceded by his parents, John and Elizabeth; his wife, Doris; and their son, Robert Kennedy.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 9:00 am in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to support Caring Hospice Services, through the Hopewell Hospice Foundation of America, 525 Route 70 West, Suite #B15, Lakewood, NJ 08701 or hopewellhospicefoundation.org.
