
Paul G. Mengle, Jr., 79, of Lebanon, died Friday, February 15, 2013 in the Stoneridge Towne Centre, Myerstown, PA. He was the husband of Peggy M. Meck Mengle with whom he was married to for 56 years. He was born in Pottsville on March 17, 1933, a son of the late Paul G. and Ruth Becker Mengle. He was employed for over 32 years with Lebanon Seaboard as sales manager for their turf division. In his younger years he worked with his family business, S. E. Mengle Sons Feed Mill in Schuylkill County and the Call Newspaper. He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and Bucknell University, Class of 1955 where he earned a business degree. He was a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church of Lebanon where he was a former elder and choir member. Paul was a longtime baseball and football coach in Schuylkill and Lebanon counties. Locally he was known for coaching baseball with the Optimist and Ebenezer clubs as well as coaching football for Ebenezer. He served on the Cornwall-Lebanon School District school board for eight years and was an active member of the Easter Seals. He was a member of the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA and an avid outdoorsman. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Paul R. Mengle of Manassas, VA; James E. Mengle and wife Janet C. Simonds Mengle of Lebanon; grandchildren, Kevin, Emily and Jenna Mengle and Wade Regnell; sisters, Mary Jones of St. Petersburg, FL; Sarah Joanne Mengle of Schuylkill Haven. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Christ Presbyterian Church, 1300 Maple St., Lebanon, PA 17046 with a visitation beginning on Saturday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his church or the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, 201 N. 7th St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
