Ruth E. "Peg" Smith

Ruth E. “Peg” Smith, 82, of Myerstown passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of George R. Smith with whom would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in December. She was born on January 10, 1929 in Tremont, PA, daughter of the late John F. and Verna Maher Schneider. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons: John S. Smith and wife Vicki, Lancaster; David M. Smith and wife Denise, Myerstown; granddaughters: Stephanie wife of Eric Snyder, Mechanicsburg; Angela wife of Tom Barr, Mechanicsburg; Erica wife of Steve Coco, Westminster, MD; Alexis wife of Chris Consalvo, Phoenix, AZ; grandson: Kelly Glynn and wife Jamie; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Elizabeth Conner and Rebecca Kromas. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon where a viewing will begin at 9 AM until the time of the service. A celebration will be held at the church immediately following the service. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to her church. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon is handling the arrangements.
