Growing up in the 60’s, Sherry enjoyed spending many nights with friends at the Dixie and the drive-in movie theater. She was a cheerleader and an excellent student with a gift for numbers. As an adult, she would follow this talent to a lifelong career as a supervisor for a Wells Fargo proof center. Sherry also had many creative hobbies such as gardening and tending to her flowers, reading, and especially art. She loved to draw and paint, and would occasionally collaborate with her son Steven, who inherited her artistic skills. Sherry also enjoyed going to car shows, spending time at the beach and going fishing with her father. She was known as “the Heart of the Family” and there was nothing she loved more than her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sherry is survived by her sons, Matthew Klinger and Steven Klinger; grandchildren, Dionne and Aiden; great granddaughters, Autumn and Nevaeh; her sister, Rita; a niece, Robin and nephews, Dave and Chris; her former husband, Dennis Klinger; and numerous stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leigh; her parents, Clarence and Helen; her husband Leroy Layser; her sister, Judy; and her Uncle George.
