Verna E Burke

Verna Elsie Burke, 82, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Henry Burke. She was born in Bethel Township on July 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert and Mamie Krissinger Rittle. Verna was a former manager of the Turkey Hill Mini Mart in Myerstown. She attended the Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church of Lebanon. She was a life member of the Pennsylvania State Grange; enjoyed her time with all her friends at Townhouse Apartments and playing bingo. Verna is survived by a son, Kevin Burke and fiance Wanda Skyinskus of Millsboro, DE; grandson, Jordan Burke of Hickory, NC; sisters, Mamie Haldeman of Myerstown; Fay Breidenstine and husband Gary of Grantville; Betty Sudbury and husband Allen of Annville; brothers, Harvey Rittle of Lebanon; Kenneth Rittle and wife Linda of GA. She was preceded in death by sisters, Clara Moyer, Phoebe Murray, Joyce Weaver and Pauline Ginder; brothers, Howard Rittle, Ralph Rittle, Robert Rittle and David Rittle. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Interment will be made in the Covenant Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
