There have been some good mentors in my life and Alex was definitely in the top 3. He was like another dad to me growing up and always had a smile and time for me when we talked. Even in the last months when I visted him, he gave me knowledge and strenghth that will be with me for years to come. He is definitely responsible for shaping me into the person I am today and for that I am grateful!
My thoughts and prayers are with you Joan and Trent and your family. Love you guys!

We have not been in touch with Alex for several years but feel like it was just yesterday that he was the most wonderful give man as he donated so much of his time to shape the young men of our community by coaching the Juvenile Stingers. Thank you for being such a wonderful human being. What you did mattered to so many young people and helped shaped the future of this community. To the Wilhauk family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely

There's a place I've never seen beyond this world we know,
A place I've only heard of but someday hope to go.
It's not on any map, there are no roads to take me there,
But it's a place of perfect peace where hearts are free from care.
And though I understand some may be saddened when I leave,
One day, we all will meet again - that's what I believe.
When it's time to travel there, I think I'll wear a smile,
I'll say good-bye to those I love, but only for a while,
Knowing there are others who have traveled there alone,
Who cannot wait to greet me and to whisper "welcome home."
Our deepest heartfelt sympathy to the Wilhauk family. May beautiful memories sustain you during this difficult time.

Deepest sympathy to the Wilhauk Family
My thoughts of Alex go back to watching him play senior hockey with the Leduc Oilers. I always thought he was such a classy hockey player; smooth, smart, and doggedly competetive. As a fifteen year old playing junior hockey with the Leduc Riggers I was very fortunate to have Alex as a coach. He instilled a ton of confidence in me and after correcting my youthful blunders always put me right back in the game. I thought the world of Alex and always enjoyed our conversations when we bumped into each other in Leduc. As I said before CLASS is always the word I think of when I think of Alex Wilhauk. I am very fortunate to have had Alex in my life.
Regards, Scott McLeod
