Betty Leonore Brown was the youngest of three daughters born to Arthur and Elsie Roth in the rural Leduc area on October 14, 1936. On June 17, 1954 she married Clarence Brown, and together they had three sons.
Betty spent the majority of her life in Leduc. While raising her family, Betty worked alongside her husband on their local dairy farm and then upon the farm's sale, went to work in community businesses. In 1981 Betty and her husband moved to a hobby farm in Creston BC where she indulged herself with her love of nature, crafting, family and friends. Betty and her husband returned to Leduc to be nearer to their children in 1996. With the death of her husband in 1997, Betty threw herself into living life to the fullest in Leduc. Betty was active in many clubs and charities where she freely gave her time and smiles.
She leaves to mourn three sons, Lorrie (Cori), Larry (Ann), and Leslie (Janice), four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence, as well as her sisters and parents.
A drop-in celebration of her life will be held at the Leduc Bingo Hall August 9 between 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you support a local charity (as Betty did), or make a donation to the animal shelter of your choice.
