OBITUARY
Dale Emile Cartier
June 22, 1951 – December 28, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Dale Emile Cartier announces his passing after several months of heart complications and then heart surgery on December 15. He passed away peacefully on December 28 in Edmonton at the Mazankowski Heart Institute at the age of 69 with his wife and children by his side.
Dale will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 49 years Brenda, his children Derek (Tammy) Cartier, their children Kjel and Kate, Richelle (Murray) Klak, their children Trey, Peyton and Averi. Dale will also be fondly remembered by his siblings Larry (Fran) Cartier, Randy Cartier, Cheryl (Scott) Grant, Shelley (Shane) Archibald and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dale was predeceased by his brother Lyle Cartier, parents Emile and Joyce Cartier, grandparents and sister-in-law Pat Cartier and father-in-law Larry Stewart.
Dale and Brenda‘s family lived on an acreage by millet from 1975 - 1989 then move to Nanaimo, BC for two and a half years to work. They then moved back to Leduc in 1992 where they have lived since. Dale spent most of his career in the trucking and crane industries where he made many, many, great friends. He had such great respect for everyone he worked with and met. He ended his career this past June as a crane and rigging safety instructor.
In honour of Dale, we would ask and appreciate a donation to the Mazankowski Heart Institute in Dale‘s name, where he has been a patient since 1974.

Sending our love and heartfelt sorrow.
It was very hard this Christmas season to learn of Dale's daily struggle to win the battle and be reunited with the family he held so dear. We know he fought hard and were thankful that in his last moments with us, Brenda, Derek and Richelle were in the room with him. Dale was a great guy to spend time with and we'll cherish our many visits. His kind face and subtle laugh and smile will always be set in our memories. Rest in peace now. We will miss you.

Very sad to hear of Dale's passing. We attended grades 1-10 together. One time when we were practicing for the trackmeet, Dale was standing watching as he was not allowed to participate because of his heart murmur. He said he was going to try once and he sailed over the bar higher than any of us who had been practicing so hard. We were sorry he couldn't compete at the trackmeet as he would have very likely brought the ribbon back to our school.
Didn't see him very often however have fond memories. Thinking of you Brenda

So saddened by Dale's passing. Sincere condolences to Brenda and the family. Dale was a great lifelong friend starting in our earliest school days. He was respected and liked by all who knew him. So many fond memories; weekends at the Cartier farm in Poplar Valley, group golf trips, the early years in Fort Mac, and so many more. He will be missed by many.

Brenda, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Our family and Dale’s family were neighbours on the farm at Poplar Valley. We went to school together, rode the school bus together and connected once in awhile in between. Thank you, Brenda for the messages you send on occasion. I know you will miss Dale tremendously, but keep the good memories close.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Went to school with Dale and his brother. We were all like family in our small community. Losing him breaks the heart you Brenda were his pride and joy he would light up whenever you were around. So I would say when you two married he held the brass ring. Take care Brenda and family

We moved next door to Dale and Brenda years ago and struck up a friendship immediately, Dale working his magic in the garage, welding, bending, painting (along with Brenda) On fabulous furniture creations. We often gathered on the driveway and had a cold one as he worked and enjoyed neighbourly chit, chat. Dale shared stories about his career, we met his amazing family. Dale will be sadly missed. Sending our sincere condolences to all the family.

Some people come into your life and you know your life would never be able to replace them if they left. This was Dale. He was a man that I, and I’m sure, everyone he met, respected, admired and was influenced by . I treasure the visits, the laughs and the help finding the right vehicle that I needed.
Dale was a man who made your life better just by being in it.
In his honour.
Let’s all try and be a little more “just like him”

Dale, Brenda and Joe and I bought 60 acres together just outside Millet and had the greatest times together raising our kids side by side until Dale and Brenda moved Nanaimo. We were over Their place . Dale had put gas in the garbage barrel and the wind come up so hard and they were coming in for coffee, Dale thought he better light it so he wouldn't forget and it blew up on someone else. Abit after coming in for coffee we saw the neighbor come driving in hollering there was a fire behind garage and fire trucks were on their way. I don't think anyone forgot that day. It took a while to get it stopped it was moving so fast from the wind and so was everyone else with water packs on their backs. Thanks for the memory Dale and many more. Love you always Joe &Jackie

Our most sincere condolences to Dale’s family. He spoke of his life partner Brenda, his children Derek, Richelle and his grandchildren all meant the world to him. Nothing mattered to him but the time he wished to spend with them . Dale will forever hold a special place in my heart. He was a friend, a great mentor and an overall wonderful human being. His sparkling eyes, his smile and his laughter will always be with me. Rest In Peace my friend.
