Eugene Donatus Hartman

December 30, 1936 - March 7, 2024

Jean and Gene were married in Unity, SK on April 24, 1957. They moved to Edmonton, AB shortly after, where they started their life and family of four children.

They enjoyed spending time with their children, children’s spouses, and grandchildren. They especially loved camping trips where everyone would stay up and party “way too late”.

Unfortunately, both spent their final years in Salem Manor Nursing Home in Leduc. Jean had M.S. and Gene had Alzheimer’s. The family would like to thank the staff there for taking such good care of our Mom and Dad throughout that time.

A funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 5105 - 45 A St., Leduc, AB, at 11:00 am on September 11, 2024. A lunch and celebration of life will follow in the church hall. Both have been cremated and a family interment will be held at a later date.

Jean and Gene are survived by their children: Brian (Suzanne), Linda (Don Anderson), Tom; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Daughter Colleen passed away in 2022 from M.S,. and grandson Ryan Anderson, too, has left this world way too soon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the M.S. Society, Diabetes Society, or the Alzheimer’s Society.

Casual dress with bright colours is encouraged at the funeral and celebration of life.
