Evelyn’s life typified the lives of so many who quietly built the foundation of our post WWII society. Born in Winnipeg, raised during the depression, Evelyn moved to Calgary in 1946. Mom was introduced to a handsome young RAAF pilot, F/O Stan Dundas, at Penley’s Dance Hall. Persistent, Stan won Evelyn’s hand over several suitors, and they danced together through 66 fine years of marriage. Swing, Square and Scottish country dancing was second only to her focus on raising six children through the boom years. Mom loved family first, but babies best, so her children happily delivered them to her. Each and every day, until her last, Mom keenly followed the activities and anecdotes of her 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, proudly sharing stories with her treasured friends at Lifestyles in Leduc, Alberta. Predeceased by her life love Stan in 2013, and her daughter Diane in 2004, Evelyn leaves behind her loving children JoAnne, Robert (Jan), Bonnie (Ken), Heather (Ed) and Keith (Barb) and grandchildren Stephen, Jonathan, Sarah, Nicola, Kelly, Jessica, Paul, Cameron, Kristine, Julie, Jack, Samuel and Thomas; and thirteen great grandchildren. Sincere thanks to team at the Cross Cancer institute and Grey Nuns whose professional, considerate and kind care gave mom such comfort. Family and friends will gather in remembrance and celebration in Calgary later this summer. In lieu of other tributes, gifts to the Cross Cancer Institute, in mom's memory, are sincerely appreciated
Arrangements under the direction of Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel, Leduc, AB.
