

It is with great sadness and deepest love that the Bendza family announces the passing of James Michael Bendza on February 2, 2024, at the age of 49 years. Lovingly remembered by his four children, Brock, Jill, Rachel and Brett, his loving partner Apollo and her son Josh, his mother Dianne, his three brothers, Rick (Debbie), Glenn (Colleen) and Jack (Jay-Lynn), his nieces Presley and Savannah, and numerous additional relatives. James is also survived by many great friends and coworkers.
James was predeceased by his father Nick Bendza in 2018.
Upon attending NAIT in 1994, he received his diploma in Survey and Technology. This led him to various roles of increasing responsibility in diamond & gold mine operations, as well as the oil and gas industry. James took great pride in his accomplishments.
James had a great sense of humour and found joy in growing up on a farm where he learnt his great work ethic and determination. James was a proud father and he will be remembered for his caring soul and all the heart he shared with his family and friends.
The service will be held on February 16, 2024 10:00 am at the Calmar Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church which is located 2 miles West of Calmar on Highway 39 and Range Rd. 272 North. This will be followed by the graveside service at the St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. The celebration of life will be held at the Calmar Legion following the graveside service.
