July 23, 1933 (Denmark) - Sept. 15, 2016 (Leduc, Alberta)
Our amazing "KP" has physically departed but memories will be forever etched in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Inger-Lise (nee Madsen); Children: Annette (Chuck) Bertrand, Steve (Nicole) Pedersen and Yvonne (Mike) Pearson; Grandchildren: Renée (Malcolm) Mills, Michael (Moony) Bertrand, Alexandra and Nicholas Pedersen, and Cole Pearson. Great grandchildren: Maddison, Aiden, Kaylee and Kaj. He will also be missed by his friends and family, near and far.
Kaj commenced his Heavy Duty Mechanics training in Denmark. When he and Inger-Lise came to Canada in 1956, he only knew three English words - "I Love You." He was an instructor at Keyano College (previously AVC) in Ft. McMurray and Fairview College. His love of Canada's outdoors culminated in purchasing "the land" near Fairview where he enjoyed managing a tree farm and becoming a member of the Woodlot Association of Alberta. During his retirement, he volunteered for Victim Services and as a guard at the Fairview RCMP detachment. He was also a long-time Legion member. He was a man with many interests, but people topped the list. Many friendships were forged and maintained.
With a clink of our glasses and a hearty Danish "Skål!" we thank you, KP, for enriching our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Alberta, 11209 - 86 St. Edmonton, AB T5B 3H7.
Arrangements under the direction of Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel, Leduc, AB.
