Dear Elaine, Jeff, Jody, Jeremy & families
     There are no words to express how saddened we are by Loren's passing.
     We have many great memories of the bonspiels ( Ron & Loren "played" well together),  the community dances we shared in the '70's and the reunions and visits over the later years. We always had many laughs.
     As we read the tributes to Loren it is clear that he touched many lives. May your wonderful memories and your great love for Loren, and for each other, help you through this difficult time.

  We were saddened by the news of Lorne’s sudden passing.  He has touched the lives of so very many people whom I’m sure have embraced each of you at this difficult time with kind gestures, love, strength and support.   Lorne was an inspiring person with his knowledge of so many diverse interests and hard work and we remember your hospitality from many years ago and with hunting. I've known Loren and Elaine since grade 3. We all graduated together and remain life- long friends. They are my school siblings and I love them.
I am so very sorry that Loren had to leave all of us so soon, especially having to leave his wonderful wife and his children and grandchildren. My heart aches for all of you! I hope you feel our hugs and love around you!!! 💖 He will be missed.
I believe we will see him again!

My condolences to Elaine and Family 😥. Lorne was such a great hockey coach and always volunteering and helping where he could. He always had a smile and something to say at the hockey tournaments.

I met Loren when I joined Hockey Alberta at the first board meeting that I went to. Here was this big man sitting up front at the head of the group.  After the meeting I got to meet with him and chat for a bit. What an interesting gentleman he was. At board meetings after that we talked a lot. He was very interesting to listen to.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Loren's passing. My deepest condolences to Elaine, Jeff, Jody and Jeremy. Loren and your whole family had a big impact on me growing up .

Loren was great coach and role model to me, and a great friend and neighbour to my family. 

I have many memories of Loren, but one vivid memory stands out. I was about 8 or 9 and he gave me a glass and said, "Put that into your cupboard and every time you see me driving into your yard, fill that half full of water. I'll take care of the whiskey!" I was given this important task and took my job seriously (and filled that glass frequently!). Then I would have the pleasure of sitting and listening to my dad and Loren set the world right, particularly regarding our community and kids' sports.

Loren, from all of us you coached and influenced and then later on all the kids in Alberta who played hockey and the support you gave at Hockey Alberta, thank you.  You are one of a kind.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Elaine and your family at this difficult time.  My boys and myself have many happy hockey memories with Lorne as a coach.  As you look back later,  please remember all the good times you shared.

Melissa and I are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Loren (the Big Kahuna).  When I started with Hockey Alberta in 1999 he was the first Minor Council Chairman that I had the pleasure working with and what a pleasure it was.  He taught me more than I could have ever imagined.  His ability to critically think through tough decisions, not take anything too personal and to keep things light in the toughest of situations were all traits I greatly admired about the man.   Not to mention his love for his family,  passion for his community  and a good quality sausage platter at a hospitality room I will always remember. 
 The memories are far too many as we spent numerous weekends together attending Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada meetings all throughout the country but I can still hear that big belly laugh of his and feel that punch in the shoulder I would get when he would see me.   Our deepest condolences to Elaine, their children, grandchildren and the rest of the Krukowski family.

Many called him the big Kahuna, I called him Special K.  Loren taught me many things about the game, and ways to best manage it. He always had a joy for life, with his wonderful smile; love for his grandkids, and all them darn cows.  He's the person that asked me to run as President of Hockey Alberta, and I can never thank him enough for that.  Just let them play, was his attitude. Lucky enough to have meet Elaine, head calf puller while Loren was away, and later on son Jeff in the electrical industry.  
Phyllis and I are so saddened to hear of Loren's passing. We will always keep those fond memories close.  Thought's and prayers to Elaine, and the family. Rest easy my friend. God bless

It was indeed a pleasure to work with Loren at Hockey Alberta.  We had many good times together.  He was kind , caring and had a great way of dealing with people.  He loved to play tricks on some of us hockey associates; we always enjoyed the jokes and he always had a smile on his face.

Very,very, sorry to hear the sad news about Lorne’s passing. Enjoyed working with him through Alberta Hockey and have many memories of discussions,talks around the table and good chuckles. Thinking of all of you at this time.  





I was so sad to hear that Lorne had passed away, his love of life, family and friends will never be forgotten.  
To Lorne's family please accept my condolences, he was a special man in my life.
He always had a smile and made you feel good to be with him. We spent many years in hockey together and most recently at our monthly hockey lunches in Edmonton, Lorne will be missed by all, rest in peace my friend.

Loren was an instrumental part of my life as I started at Hockey Alberta in the mid 90's.  The knowledge, the way he approached people, the fun, all have stuck with me and he had a major impact on how I felt a person should carry themselves.   From time to time our paths continued to cross, sometimes with some hockey business and then sometimes with my children and his grandchildren at the same hockey rinks.   I was saddened to hear of Loren's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and the family.   


I remember fondly the various fun, and some not so fun, times I shared with Loren in our years on Hockey Alberta's Board of Directors.

Ken and I were saddened to hear of Loren's passing.  He was a friend and a mentor to me when we volunteered at Hockey Alberta.  Loren was a pleasure to work with and supportive to the newbie on the board of directors many years ago.  He made a special trip to Red Deer when I was elected as President.  He said he had to be there.  It is one of my favorite memories of that time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you Elaine and with your family.  Annie and Ken Orton
