February 19, 2021 at the age of 59 years.
Sandi grew up in the Leduc/Nisku area on the family farm. She was the 7th child in a family of 8 (one
brother and six sisters). She graduated from Leduc Senior High School in 1979. She married one year
later and settled down in Edmonton. Her life later would bring her another cherished partner, then take
her through many hills and valleys. She enjoyed her work in banking, but also pursued other educational
options. Life brought her many health challenges, but she persevered. Her bravery through the
challenges was amazing, she would dust herself off and move forward. Always beautiful, calm and
thoughtful.
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our sister, aunt and friend. She will be forever
remembered for her love of the little ones in the family, all animals big and small, music, dancing and her
love of her extensive family. Her first “favourite place” was the kitchen table at Mom and Dad’s farm at
Leduc. And second favourite was the whole of outdoors; on the farm as a child, running and playing with
her sisters, helping her Dad with outside work, camping with family, snowmobiling and cross country
skiing. And she would always say “how are my mountains?” when she would come for Derby Days
holidays in Hinton. Another “favourite place” for Sandi was her drawing, with pencil, crayon or charcoal.
This creative talent brought her much peace and happiness.
Sandi is survived by her loving family:
One brother and four sisters: Jim (Elaine) Bilsborrow, Barbara (Allen) Tom, Sharon Forester, Kathy (Rick)
McNalley, Ramona Bilsborrow. Special Friend Chris Lachman. Nieces and nephews: Dawn (Earl), Samantha (Chance), John (Leah), Connie-Lynn, Cindy (Eric), Micheal (Kim), Angela (Chris), Victoria (Lee), Steven (Michele), Kristen (Tyrell), Kayla (Corey), and 22 great nieces and nephews.
Sandi was predeceased by husband Thomas Bentley, mother and father George and Dorothy Bilsborrow,
sister Joyce Bilsborrow, sister Judith Hensel, brother-in-law Lyle Forester.
