Andrew Murphee Jr.

Andy was born on August 17, 1959, in Panama City, FL to Andrew V. Murphree Sr. of Odenville, AL and Sonja Holcomb Murphree of Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from St. Clair County High in 1977 and enlisted in the Air Force and served for over 12 years as a Staff Sargent. On October 29, 1982, he married Vicenta Ymas of the Philippines while on active duty. They raised one son Andrew V. Murphree III. He and his family lived in Talladega, AL. Andy was a current member of the Philadelphia Church of God. He loved his family, and his church. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and scuba diving. He was involved with the spokesman's club through his church, while also serving his church as an audio and electronics technician. Andy was known for his warm smile, compassionate spirit and sense of adventure. He is survived by his Spouse: Vicenta Y Murphree, Son: Andrew V. Murphree III, Brother: Chris Murphree, Sister: Susanne Murphree Carrier, Niece(s): Sonja Murphree, Amy Carrier Rivas, Courtney Carrier Peebles, Nephew(s): Brian Murphree, Caleb Carrier, Father: Andrew V. Murphree Sr. and Mother: Sonja Holcomb Murphree. A memorial service will be held on Monday January 24th at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama.
