Betty Jo Compton, age 86 of Leeds, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Roberta Browning; sister, Helen Bailey; and brother, Gordon Lee Browning. Mrs. Compton is survived by her husband of 66 years, Horace H. Compton; daughters Deborah O’Pry (Mickey), and Suzanne Wright (Rodney); grandchildren, Michael O’Pry (Dawn), Connor Kaiser, Natalie Goodman (Josh), and Ryan Wright; great grandchildren Marley, Chandler, Ezra, and Noah; sisters, Marilyn Patterson, Shirley Cummings, and Kathy Adkins. A visitation for Mrs. Compton will be held on Thursday evening, September 5, 2024 beginning at 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home 1750 Ashville Road Leeds, Alabama 35094. The funeral service will be Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM also at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds, Alabama. The services are directed by Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds, Alabama.
