accident alongside two of his teammates (JJ Wright and Cameron Casorso) while pursuing his dream of playing hockey in Alberta.
In August 2025, Caden moved to Canada after signing with the Southern Alberta Junior Mustangs in Stavely, Alberta — an opportunity that reflected both his talent and unwavering
dedication to the sport he loved. Hockey had been a central part of Caden’s life since he was nine years old. Although he explored many interests growing up — including T-ball, motocross, and
football — it was on the ice where he truly found his passion.
Caden began travel hockey in 2020 when he signed with the Birmingham Junior Bulls. He proudly played two additional seasons with the Bulls (2021–2022 and 2022–2023), continuing to develop both as a player and teammate. For the 2024–2025 season, he joined the Atlanta Phoenix travel team in Duluth, Georgia, further advancing his skills and competitive experience. In addition, Caden played high school hockey for the Columbus Cottonmouths during the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 seasons, where he built lasting friendships and left a meaningful mark on
his team.
Beyond athletics, Caden was known for his kind heart and thoughtful nature. He had an infectious smile and a laugh that could light up any room — the kind that made others instantly
feel at ease. His resilience was remarkable; even an ACL injury could not deter him from working tirelessly to return to the ice and continue pursuing what he loved most. Caden had a deep curiosity about the world. He enjoyed traveling and visiting museums, especially those featuring historical war planes and ships. He loved to cook, often experimenting with new recipes and flavors, and he found joy in reading and learning. Whether on the ice, in the kitchen, or exploring history, Caden approached life with enthusiasm and determination.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel Fine, Christina Fine, and Cherie Rouse; his sister, Audra; and his brother, Grayson. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Donna and Wayne Dover; Eddie and Karen Fine; Mike and Linda Rouse; and Ann White; along with his aunts and uncles, April and Ron Woodis; Jenny and Tony Garrison; Christy and Charley Benson; Carissa Rouse; and Christy Rouse; and many cherished cousins.
Caden’s life, though far too short, was filled with passion, perseverance, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
